Fair Hope team serving the community

Who We Are

Fair Hope Children's Ministry began in 2004 when five area United Methodist Churches came together to provide clothing to children in need. Jan Reader, along with Pastor John Prather, started taking clothing to families at the Fair Oaks public housing complex, and the name "Fair Hope" was derived from "Fair Oaks."

In 2005, Bowman Avenue United Methodist Church offered its parsonage for the ministry's use, allowing Fair Hope to expand its reach. After 15 years of growth, the ministry moved to its current 9,500 square-foot facility at 1225 E. Voorhees Street in 2020.

Today, we are a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing clothing, car seats, play yards, layettes, and essential items to families throughout Danville and Surrounding Areas. We partner with schools, social service agencies, churches, healthcare facilities, and local organizations to serve those in need.
